This post is all about the best Halloween party games!

If you’re anything like me, the activity section of a party is the planning phase you struggle with the most. However, it’s undeniable that a good party, especially a themed one like Halloween, can benefit from a few organized games. They provide a great ice breaker if guests don’t know each other well, and can help you keep things running smoothly if most of your guests are children.
Luckily, Halloween offers a ton of great angles to rethink basic games. Whether you love something on the DIY side or are looking for last-minute, no-fuss ideas, there are so many options you can turn to for Halloween party games. In this post, I’ve put together 15 great ideas to upgrade your board game night or Halloween party with a spooky twist.
From fun printables to simple rule changes, I hope these ideas can help you take your Halloween party planning to the next level!

Choosing The Right Games For Your Party
Before jumping into our Halloween games, I think it’s helpful to spend some time understanding what will work for your event. Who you plan on entertaining, the size of the crowd, and the vibes your are going for, are all elements you need to consider when choosing the perfect activity.
As you scroll through all the games, try to keep in mind the following points:
- Audience size: the larger the crowd, the more challenging it will be to play in teams or pairs without anybody being left out. Consider choosing a game like trivia or splitting your guests into smaller groups.
- Type of event: if you’re planning on a sophisticated dinner party, cute printables you can share while sitting at the table are perfect. On the other hand, if your Halloween party is all about the children, don’t be afraid to lean into more interactive options with props.
- Time: While you don’t need to plan every second of your party, it’s helpful to know in advance how much time you’re comfortable dedicating to games. A 50-question round of Trivia will definitely take up more time and effort than a single round of Pictionary. Make sure you’re accounting for the time you will need to explain rules, distribute materials, and organize teams as needed.
Print-and-Play Halloween Party Games
Sometimes, simplicity is best. Especially if you find yourself planning last minute or if your budget ran out approximately three Amazon orders ago. Trust me, we’ve all been there.
That’s why I wanted to design a set of printable games that require little to no setup. All you will need is a printer and some paper. No complicated boards or elaborate props needed!

1. “Find The Guest” Bingo
This bingo card is filled with Halloween themed descriptors. Anything from “Can DIY the best Halloween costumes” to “Gets too scared watching Halloween movies”.
Print a copy for each guest and have them mingle to find people matching the squares. The first person who can complete a full row wins!
2. Halloween Trivia Quiz
This game is perfect if you have a mixed crowd of adults and teenagers (or slightly older kids). The questions span different levels of difficulty, making it possible for everyone to participate. You’ll find cards covering trivia questions about Halloween candies, Halloween legends, Halloween monsters, and Halloween movies and pop culture.
I have made the design so that each card can be folded, making it easy to keep track of every question and its matching solution!
3. Halloween “Price Is Right”
This quick and easy game is perfect to transition a Halloween dinner into a party or to kick off the even as you wait for all your guests to arrive. Print a sheet for each guest and have them guess the price of each Halloween item. Who can get the closest wins!
4. Trick-or-Treat Guess Who
Okay, maybe at the beginning of this section I lied. This printable requires a little bit of a setup as each Guess Who Card needs to be cut individually if you want to fit them onto a board.
Alternatively you can also have your guests play with the printed version, just provide a pen for them to block out the characters as they go.
5. Frankenstein’s Battleship
Why play with boring ships when you can spread across your board monster parts? Get ready to have fun with your very own monster lab and try to guess where you opponent’s monster is located.
DIY Halloween Board Game Makeovers
This section is all about using props to rethink some board game classics. Whether you decide to hand-make them yourself or opt for ready-to-shop sets, these small changes will give a completely new Halloween feel to your games!
6. Witch’s Chess
If your guests love a mini chess tournament, have fun by switching out some pieces with spooky props. Pawns? We don’t need them. Swap them out for mini spiders instead! The Queen? She’s left; use a witch instead!
Amazon is full of miniatures that work perfectly for this!
7. Pumpkin Jenga
All you need is a plain Jenga, some paint, and a little bit of creativity. You can simply paint them in orange and black, or even add a few dares for a more adult crowd.
Simple, inexpensive, but such a fun classic!
8. Fear Factor Twister
All you need for this idea is a standard twister mat and a few elements to add spooky textures. Think slime, fake cobwebs, some leaves.
Heads up on the cleanup needed afterwards. This is definitely something you want to push out later into the party!
9. Gory Operation
Operation is a classic and such a great way to add a touch of nostalgia to your Halloween party. And while the idea of open-heart surgery from an untrained doctor is already quite scary, go the extra mile and get creative. Swap out body parts for creepy Halloween items: fangs, slime blobs, mini bones. You can create them yourself or use mini figurines from Amazon.
10. Zombie Monopoly
If you’re planning a more low-key Halloween party, a game of monopoly might be exactly what your event needs.
For a nice Halloween twist, transform your Monopoly board into a zombie apocalypse. Replace money with “brains,” properties with graveyards, and tokens with creepy miniatures. If you’re feeling extra creative, you could even DIY new Halloween cards on Canva.
11. Halloween Connect Four
I know, I know, Connect Four sounds boring. The twist? The grid is layed out on the table and the tokens are apples collected via bobbing-for-apples by each team member.
Simple to set up, interactive, and fun for all ages.
12. Ouija Pictionary
Draw spooky words like haunted house or witch’s broom while incorporating a printed Ouija spinner for prompts. Guaranteed to cause laughter and maybe a little fright, or confusion, depending on your guests’ drawing skills!
Spooky Rule Tweaks For Halloween Party Games
Looking for a game and your guests are coming in 20 minutes or less? No need to worry. Here are some ideas that require no prompts or printing/setup. All you need is the original game ang a chnage in rules!
13. Spooky Scrabble
All you need to do is limiting scoring to Halloween-themed words. Bonus points for creepy words like “phantom” or “graveyard.”
The only thing to be mindful of is the letter shortage. If you have two sets of letters, make both available.
14. Sinister Uno
Quickly create a set of Halloween dares linked to Uno action cards. For instance, draw 2 could require the person to howl, a skip requires a Halloween joke, and so on.
15. Boozy Bear Pong Board
Looking for the ultimate college Halloween party game? Take classic beer pong and add Halloween trivia questions in between shots. Quick, easy, and fun.
Of course, black and orange cups are an absolute must-have!
